Considering Light Changes

When I consider how my light is spent

your pink window alight against ink black sky,

us, overtly delighted, all things considered

illuminated by headlights of considerable Jeep.

Lighter and candle and pink melting cake,

and pink highlighter and article considering

the pros and cons of harvesting sunlight

smaller slices and feeling slighted

and looking slightly pink. Reconsidered

classes and plights and fights with friends

as your graduation nears. Pink lightning and

canceled pool trips, considering money spent in daylight.

Watching you turn that big light off as i admire

you for the last time. Consider lighting the world on fire.
